Wendy Ward Ehlers, Untitled (Three Inches Equals One Week of Laundry), c. 1974
It all began with the artist Wendy Ward, our mother.
She was an intrepid creative who forged her way in the art world as a conceptual artist in the 70s. She received great attention at the time with shows from Soho to Harlem. But, it wasn’t until 2022 that she was invited to show her artwork in the show “Just Above Midtown” at MOMA in NYC. Mom always thought outside the box, was not someone who painted in the lines but all over them.
